Woodford Reserve Distillery has introduced the latest addition to their Distillery Series: limited-edition Blended Malt.
This new expression combines two malt whiskies. The first was 100 percent malt aged in used barrels, then finished in a Ruby Port Barrel. The other was a blend of five different styles of malt grains aged in new oak barrels. “This release showcases our ability to take complex barrels of whiskies, blend them together, and create a new flavorful product,” said Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall.
Each 375mL bottle is presented at 90.4 proof. Color: Orange Honey
Aroma: Raspberry preserves, nutty malt, with a hint of pumpkin spice and orange peel
Taste: Candied nutty malt, raw oak and citrus oils
Finish: A long lingering finish of dark fruit, raspberry, raisin, fig, and a hint of allspice
