SHOREHAM, Vt. — WhistlePig Whiskey, an independent craft whiskey maker, says it is taking on big bourbon in its own backyard. Ten years after the launch of WhistlePig Small Batch Rye – Aged 10 Years, it is introducing WhistlePig Snout-to-Tail Bourbon – Aged 10 Years.
Each finishing barrel features two distinctly toasted barrel heads — a Vermont oak medium toast at “the snout” end and a Vermont oak smoked maple wood toast at “the tail.” The only Bourbon aged Snout-to-Tail, WhistlePig flips its barrels 180 degrees in the warehouse to capture each barrel head’s unique toasted flavors. Snout-to-Tail Bourbon is bottled at 88 proof, a wink to the 880 miles between the Vermont Farm and its planned new Kentucky outpost.
It is opening WhistlePig PiggyBank in Louisville, Ky., in summer 2025.

The WhistlePig PiggyBank transforms the historic bank building and infamous Bank Shot Billiards space with interactive snout-to-tail experiences, exclusive tastings, a big pig bar and other ham hijinx. The prime cut of the experience is the century bank Vault, reinvented to house WhistlePig’s most rare and collectible whiskeys.
Snout-to-Tail Bourbon – Aged 10 Years will be available for sale online on WhistlePig’s website and at liquor stores, bars and restaurants nationwide on January 29, 2025, for $89.99 MSRP per 750mL bottle. The WhistlePig PiggyBank is slated to open this summer at 403 E. Market St., Louisville, Ky.
