The first of four limited releases from Watershed Distillery’s 2024 Fall Finishing Series: a celebration of the flavors inspired by autumn and the warm and cozy feelings we look forward to in the cooler months.
For the first time ever, Watershed distillery finished their bourbon in ruby port casks; evoking the rich flavors and aromas of the Old World, this iteration is sure to please fans of fine whiskeys and wines alike. The bourbon finishes gracefully in exclusive Port casks from the renowned Pedroncelli Winery, echoing a legacy of used Port barrels dating back to 1997.
Selected from Tonnellerie Vernou in Cognac, France, and the Canton Cooperage in Lebanon, Kentucky, their use of American and French oak barrels, some of which were constructed prior to the founding of the 
distillery; create a storied symphony of flavors.
Each pour of this finished bourbon pours garnet in color, with notes of sweet plums and mulling spices on the nose, leading to a palate decorated with hints of bing cherry. The finish reveals a familiar embrace of caramel and the nuanced touch of red wine tannin.
