GOSHEN, Ky – Tickets are now on sale for a charity bourbon raffle hosted by the Oldham County-based nonprofit the Trent DiGiuro Foundation, featuring a 25-prize lineup of rare and allocated bourbon prizes. The raffle includes a six-bottle “Pappy” vertical as its grand prize, featuring a Pappy Van Winkle Family Reserve 23 year, Pappy Van Winkle Family Reserve 20 year, Pappy Van Winkle Family Reserve 15 year, Van Winkle Family Reserve Rye 13 year, Van Winkle Special Reserve Lot “B” 12 year and Old Rip Van Winkle 10 year.
Set for Wednesday, June 26, proceeds from the raffle will support various scholarship initiatives in honor and memory of the foundation’s namesake, a University of Kentucky walk-on offensive lineman and South Oldham High School graduate who tragically died just three days before his 21st birthday on July 17, 1994. The foundation annually awards scholarships to graduating student-athletes at Oldham County High School, South Oldham High School and North Oldham High School, along with a scholarship for a UK walk-on football player.
“The funds raised through this raffle will make a significant impact on the lives of local student-athletes and help keep Trent’s memory alive,” said Mike DiGiuro, Trent’s father and CEO of the foundation. “We hope that individuals from our community and beyond will support this event, helping to fund our important work while having the chance to win some fantastic prizes.”
In addition to the raffle’s grand prize, some of the other prizes include a bottle of Daniel Weller, a Van Winkle 12 and 10 year pair, a bottle of Maker’s Mark Cellar Aged and more.
The raffle is held in partnership with Elizabethtown-based nonprofit Give 270. After raising over $1 million in support of the central Kentucky region through charitable gaming initiatives and signature events, the nonprofit launched bourbonraffles.org earlier this year. This platform aims to offer fundraising opportunities to a wider array of nonprofit organizations and worthwhile initiatives. The first raffle hosted on the platform took place in March and benefited the Louisville-based Wizdom Foundation.
“Following the success of our first raffle on this new platform, we at Give 270 are excited about the potential financial impact this upcoming raffle holds for such an important organization,” said Kenny Rambo, co-founder of Give 270. “This platform allows us to broaden our philanthropic reach, and we are proud to partner with the Trent DiGiuro Foundation.”
The upcoming raffle, officially titled Bourbon Raffles Serial No. 002, will take place live on Give 270’s Facebook page and YouTube channel on Wednesday, June 26, at 8 p.m., following Give 270’s weekly Whiskey Wednesdays raffle.
Tickets are $100 and will be available for purchase until 7 p.m. on the day of the drawing. A total of 1,000 tickets are available for the raffle. Subject to availability, there is no limit to the number of tickets purchased per person.
