Isle of Mull, Scotland (October 24, 2024) – Tobermory Distillery, one of Scotland’s oldest distilleries located on the idyllic Isle of Mull, is proud to announce the release of two award-winning aged single malts: Tobermory 21 Year Old and Ledaig 18 Year Old to the United States. With each bottle offering a unique taste of the Isle of Mull’s rich whisky-making heritage, these expressions represent a masterful balance of time, craftsmanship, and local tradition.
Both the Tobermory 21-Year-Old and Ledaig 18-Year-Old whiskies offer a journey through the unique character of the Isle of Mull, where every drop reflects the distillery’s dedication to time-honored traditions and innovative maturation processes. Half of the year Tobermory Distillery crafts unpeated Tobermory and the other half they produce peated Ledaig whisky in its Hebridean distillery. These releases represent a milestone for Tobermory Distillery, showcasing its expertise in both unpeated and peated single malts.
“Our Tobermory 21-Year-Old is a true reflection of the artistry behind our whisky-making. The long maturation in American oak, followed by the sherry finish, allows the spirit to develop a harmony of flavors that’s both bold and refined,” said Juliann Fernandez, master blender at Tobermory Distillery. “It’s a whisky that captures the essence of the Island of Mull—natural, complex, and full of character— and one we are excited American whisky enthusiasts will soon be able to enjoy.”
