BOONE COUNTY, KY – December 16, 2024 – Today, Stephen Curry’s Gentleman’s Cut will be releasing a 16-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey branded Player Exclusive: Father and Son Edition to celebrate a remarkable achievement. As the year comes to a close, Stephen Curry will be honoring this milestone he has been dreaming of, striving towards, and looking forward to since he first picked up a basketball: playing 16 years in the league.
While this feat is remarkable on its own, it also holds significant importance to Stephen and his family as his father, Dell Curry, also played 16 exceptional seasons while in the NBA. Wardell “Dell” Curry Sr. is one of the most respected NBA veterans. During Curry’s time with the Charlotte Hornets, he was the all-time leader in points. Curry was also named NBA 6th Man of the Year in 1996, before he retired from playing professional basketball in 2002. He has since worked in the team’s front office and serves as a commentator and analyst for the Charlotte Hornets.
“Just like so many others, I consider my father to be one of the greatest,” shares Stephen Curry. “Growing up, my father was an amazing role model to me; he showed me what it means to be a hard worker, have a solid work ethic, and give it your all. I’ve always looked up to him and admired his work ethic and skills so to be able to achieve a milestone that he also accomplished is an amazing feeling. I wanted to bottle this amazing feeling, and share it with the world, and the result was a delectable combination of flavors that came together through the Player Exclusive: Father and Son Edition.”
This 100 proof bourbon began distillation in August 2008 with a mashbill of 75% corn, 13% rye and 12% malted barley. The result is a delectable bourbon with notes of sweetness, spiciness, and smoke. An intense profile of dried cherries and caramelized elements jumps out of the glass, and as you delve into the drink, a nuanced hint of fine tobacco leaf can be tasted as it lends a warm earthy feel to the bourbon.
