The Kentucky Mule has long been one of our favorite ways to take our bourbon. The Mechanical Mule shakes up the time-honored recipe and adds a little horsepower for a taste that’s even smoother.
The Mechanical Mule (USM M274 Truck) was a short-bed 1/2 ton load 4×4 platform truck developed at the end of World War 2 to reach and resupply AOs the military Jeep couldn’t get to. Designated ‘Jungle Burden Carrier’ by the military, the Mechanical Mule was widely deployed during the Vietnam War, where it ferried soldiers and supplies over rough terrain and even served as a platform for large calibre weapons like the M60 Recoilless rifle.
