The Kentucky Distillers’ Association has forged a unique bond with colleges and universities across the state to help promote healthier habits and address substance misuse among young adults.
The partnership was forged over years of collaboration between Ashley Hinton, Centre College Heath Promotion Director, and the Kentucky Distillers’ Association (KDA) staff and members. With assistance from Kentucky’s bourbon distillers, Kentucky colleges have formed a consortium to share resources, training strategies and information via a three-year, $1 million pilot program.
On Thursday, Sept. 26, Centreworks will play host to A Masterclass on the Spirit of Bourbon.
Several key figures who helped bring this partnership to fruition will be available at CentreWorks in Danville prior to a Masterclass on the Spirit of Bourbon. They will be able to discuss the newly announced Kentucky Coalition for Responsible Alcohol and Substance Misuse Education (RASME). Those available for interview at 4:30 p.m. include:
- Ashley Hinton, Centre College Heath Promotion Director
- Adam Johnson, Kentucky Distillers’ Association’s Vice President of State Relations
- Coleen Thomas, Kentucky Distillers’ Association Vice President of Operations
There will also be a Master Class Panel Discussion featuring Hinton, Johnson and Centre professors Leonard Demoranville and Lee Jefferson.
