Four Roses Distillery is releasing its 2022 Limited Edition Small Batch Bourbon. The spirit is to be released on September 17, 2022.
This is the 15th bottle in the Small Batch Series and as always it is a blend of bourbons aged between 14 and 20 years.
“From the beginning of crafting this year’s limited edition small batch Bourbon, two particular batches stood out to me as potential candidates to go into the blend – a 14-year-old recipe batch that is remarkably smooth and rich on the palate, and a 20-year-old recipe batch that exhibits the best fruit barrel and spice qualities of extra-aged Bourbon. The test blends revolved around those two batches until we landed on a liquid with a perfect balance that is unique, layered, mellow and elegant,” said Brent Elliott, Four Roses master distiller.
Notes of brown sugar, cherry, and oak dominate the nose, while apricot and vanilla fill the palate. The finish is very light with vanilla and cinnamon that carries with you.
Only 14,100 bottles that will be hand-numbered will be sold. MSRP is $179.99.
Also, a limited quantity of the 750ml bottles will be for sale at the Four Roses Distillery Visitor Centre through a public lottery drawing. Registration for the lottery opens on August 22nd and closes on the 28th. Visit Four Roses for more details.
