Kentucky Senator Spirits was founded by a team passionate about bourbon and Kentucky’s rich political heritage. The distillery sources high-quality ingredients and employs traditional production methods to craft their bourbons, ensuring each bottle reflects the craftsmanship and dedication that Kentucky bourbon is known for.

Kentucky Senator Bourbon John Brown is a notable offering that pays homage to the esteemed U.S. Senator from Kentucky, John Brown, who was Kentucky’s 1st US Senator. This bourbon is the fifth release and part of a series that celebrates prominent Kentucky Senators, blending rich history with high-quality bourbon craftsmanship.

This bourbon has a color that is a rich, deep amber, suggesting extended aging time. At 9 years old, it is a bourbon that comes in at 107 proof with only 1,200 bottles being produced. The mash bill is 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley.

The nose is tantalizing and inviting. Initial aromas of caramel and vanilla lead, followed by hints of toasted oak, leather, and a subtle nuttiness. A delicate spice rounds out the bouquet.

The palate is smooth and well-balanced. Initial flavors of sweet corn and honey are followed by dark chocolate. As it develops, dried fruit, cinnamon, and clove come to the forefront. The oak influence is significant but harmonious, providing depth without overwhelming the other flavors. The mouthfeel is luxuriously silky, coating the palate with a creamy texture.

With a finish that is long and satisfying, it has lingering notes of vanilla, spice, and a faint smokiness. The warmth is exceptional and a clean aftertaste.

Kentucky Senator Bourbon John Brown is a real testament to the artistry of bourbon-making, offering a complex yet approachable profile that will appeal to both seasoned enthusiasts and newcomers.

This bourbon is a must-try for anyone interested in the depth and heritage of Kentucky bourbon. Its complexity and balance provide a memorable and thoroughly enjoyable experience while honoring our political past.

Cheers!
