Heaven Hill waited no time to kick off 2023 with its release of Larceny Barrel Proof A123. With higher-wheat content, the bourbon is much smoother and sweeter. At 125.8 proof there is still a kick to let you know that you are drinking barrel-proof whiskey.
Breaking down A123, the “A” is the first release in a three-part series, with the “1” designating the month, and “23” standing for the year. It is common for Heaven Hill to use these numbers in its annual series.
The popular series includes bourbon aged between six and eight years, bottled straight from casks. Heaven Hill keeps the mashbill the same, but it does vary in flavor and colors.
The distillery typically releases the “B and C” series later on in the spring and fall.
