The Glasgow Distillery is celebrating a milestone ten years since the filling of its very first whisky cask.
Established with a vision to reignite Glasgow’s rich whisky-making heritage, The Glasgow Distillery filled Cask No. 1 on March 5th, 2015, with the release of its flagship single malt Glasgow 1770 The Original following in 2018.
Over the past decade, the distillery has pushed the boundaries of whisky-making, crafting single malts that capture Glasgow’s vibrant character. By creating three styles of new make spirit, the whisky makers achieve multiple distinct flavor profiles, offering a wide spectrum of choices within their whisky portfolio each year.

In addition to its acclaimed core range, The Glasgow Distillery has gained recognition for its Small Batch Series – an innovative collection of limited-edition releases showcasing the versatility of its three distinct whisky styles through a variety of unique and experimental cask maturations. The latest release saw experiments with its peated spirit matured in Marsala Wine, Islay and Madeira casks.
As The Glasgow Distillery looks to the future, it has a number of exciting projects and expansion plans on the horizon. They will also be celebrating their 10 years of whisky making with special bottlings planned for later this year, the distillery invites whisky lovers to join their online community to be the first to know about new releases and gain priority access.

Glasgow 1770 Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Launched in 2018, the distillery launched its first batch of single malt Scotch whisky with Release No. 1 selling out within days via an online ballot. G52 Botanical Vodka, which consists of G52 Fresh Citrus and G52 Rich Coffee, was launched in February 2020.
Malt Riot Blended Malt, launched in 2020, tells the story of the 1725 Malt Riots, which started in Glasgow and spread across Scotland.
The Glasgow Distillery was awarded ‘Craft Producers of the Year’ at the Whisky Magazine Icons of Whisky Awards in 2017 and 2019 as well as being named ‘Scottish Whisky Distillery of The Year’ at The Scottish Whisky Awards in 2020. Glasgow 1770 The Original Single Malt Scotch Whisky, the inaugural expression in the Glasgow 1770 range, has won a series of awards in 2023 including Gold at the International Spirits Challenge, the highest merit of Master at the Spirits Business Scotch Whisky Masters. Other wins include scoring 95/100 at the IWSC, gaining a Double Platinum Medal, being named Best In Class at the USA-based ASCOT Awards, and winning a Gold Medal at the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
