Louisville, KY – Nov. 19, 2024 Bourbon isn’t just a drink—it’s a booming industry synonymous with Kentucky’s identity and a driver of both tourism and commerce. Cedar Lake Foundation is tapping into this cultural and economic powerhouse to raise funds for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through its 2024 Bourbon Raffle.

The raffle, which runs from November 4, 2024, to January 30, 2025, presents a unique opportunity for bourbon enthusiasts to win rare and highly sought-after bottles while supporting a cause that changes lives. The prize packages include elite selections like Old Forester Birthday Bourbon and W.L. Weller 12-Year. Tickets are $100 each, with only 1,000 available, and the drawing will be held live on Cedar Lake’s Facebook page on January 31, 2025, at 9 a.m.

“Bourbon is not just Kentucky’s signature spirit—it’s a bridge to meaningful connections,” says Rick Davis, President & CEO of Cedar Lake. “By aligning our mission with something as culturally significant as bourbon, we’re able to engage a broader audience while making a real difference in the lives of the individuals we support.”

Kentucky’s bourbon industry generated nearly $9 billion in annual economic output in 2023, with the rare bourbon market continuing to grow. Cedar Lake recognized the potential of this demand to enhance its fundraising efforts. The raffle not only appeals to collectors and connoisseurs but also draws in business leaders and philanthropists who see value in supporting local organizations through innovative means.

The Intersection of Industry and Philanthropy

For Cedar Lake, the bourbon raffle isn’t just a fundraising tool—it’s a strategic initiative that capitalizes on Kentucky’s most famous export to create lasting impact. Businesses across the state have recognized the potential of bourbon-themed events, using them to attract sponsors, engage stakeholders, and raise awareness for critical causes.
“The business of bourbon goes beyond sales and tourism,” Davis explains. “It extends into the philanthropic realm, offering nonprofits like Cedar Lake a way to innovate and sustain our mission. People see the value in contributing to a cause while enjoying the culture and craftsmanship bourbon represents.”
